The York County Solid Waste Authority announces Delta Borough will implement a weekly curbside recycling program for its residents. The addition of Delta Borough increases the number of York County municipalities participating in curbside recycling programs to 56 out of 72.

Examples of items residents may recycle include: glass (food and beverage containers); aluminum and steel food and beverage cans; office paper, newspaper, magazines and cardboard; and plastics with the numbers one through seven printed on the bottom of the containers (necks smaller than their bases).

Act 101, the State's Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act, was passed in 1988 and requires 14 York County municipalities to implement curbside recycling programs based on their population. The other 42 municipalities offer curbside programs voluntarily for their residents. These 56 municipalities represent more than 85 percent of York County 's population.

Residents with questions about the program should call Delta Borough directly at 717-456-6248.
