More than 200 households participated in the York County Solid Waste Authority’s fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program held October 6 at the Authority’s Management Center.  The program collected 7.1 tons of household hazardous waste.  

"The program benefits York County by identifying hazardous wastes found in the home and providing an opportunity for residents to manage these materials in a safe and efficient manner," says Gregg Pearson, Manager of the Specialty Wastes and Programs Division for the Authority.  The program was offered to all York County residents at no cost.  The Authority thanks the Fire Police of Manchester Township for their assistance with traffic control.  

The next Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 9AM to 1PM at a location to be announced.
