TIRE COLLECTION PROGRAM CLEANS UP COMMUNITIES AND HELPS FIGHT SPREAD OF
WEST NILE

The York County Solid Waste Authority
has joined with
York
County
’s Penn State Cooperative Extension to participate as a sponsor in the
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PADEP) waste tire
collection program to collect and recycle waste tires.
Dover
Township
will host the program on Saturday, September 24 from 8AM to 3PM
at the
Dover
Township
Municipal
Building
located at
2480 W. Canal Road
. Fifty percent of the
total cost of the program is funded by the PADEP.
The Authority has designated up to $7,000 in support of the
program.
The program is open to
York
County
residents only. Businesses are
not eligible to participate. Residents
must register in advance and
bring proof of residency to the event. A
maximum of 50 tires is
allowed per residence. The
first 12 tires per residence will be accepted at no charge (on or
off rims). There will be a fee
for additional tires. Tires
must not be excessively dirty or full of water.
