The York County Solid Waste Authority has joined with York County ’s Penn State Cooperative Extension to participate as a sponsor in the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PADEP) waste tire collection program to collect and recycle waste tires.

Dover Township will host the program on Saturday, September 24 from 8AM to 3PM at the Dover Township Municipal Building located at 2480 W. Canal Road .   Fifty percent of the total cost of the program is funded by the PADEP.  The Authority has designated up to $7,000 in support of the program.

The program is open to York County residents only.  Businesses are not eligible to participate.  Residents must register in advance and bring proof of residency to the event.  A maximum of 50 tires is allowed per residence.  The first 12 tires per residence will be accepted at no charge (on or off rims).  There will be a fee for additional tires.    Tires must not be excessively dirty or full of water.  To register call: 717-840-7408.
