From I-83:
Proceed on I-83 to Exit 21 (old exit 9--Arsenal Rd/Rt.30E). As you come off the exit ramp, get immediately into the far left turning lane and proceed to stoplight at intersection of Toronita Street and Rt. 30E (you will see the "Round the Clock Diner" at this intersection).
At the stoplight, turn left onto Toronita Street (Toronita turns into Blackbridge Road). Proceed approximately 1˝ miles to the Resource Recovery Center located on the left side of the roadway. Take the first gate entrance into the facility and proceed up the driveway and into the parking lot.
Enter the facility via the front lobby entrance. The entrance to the Authority’s Education Center is on your left. Tour groups meet first at the Education Center and then proceed on the tour.

EDUCATION CENTER

The Education Center, located on the first floor of the York County Resource Recovery Center, 2653 Blackbridge Road, hosts more than 5,000 visitors annually.
The Center features a 60-person orientation room and corporate/organization-sponsored interactive learning stations on a variety of solid waste topics.
The Education Center is open Monday through Friday by appointment. Daytime and evening hours are available. Authority presentation topics can be scheduled along with an Education Center visit and/or a tour of the Resource Recovery Center.
There is no fee to visit the Education Center, or to take a tour of the Resource recovery Center. The facility is accessible to people with disabilities. Individuals requiring accommodations are asked to notify the Authority in advance.

Education Center Goals:
- Encourage individual responsible environmental stewardship.
- Teach the public about waste: how to reduce, reuse and recycle it —and why.
- Enhance the public’s existing perception of waste management practices.
- To the greatest extent possible, provide programming to all individuals and groups expressing interest in learning about responsible management of waste.
- Facilitate public acceptance of programs outlined in the Countywide Municipal Waste Management Plan.
- Work with educators and solid waste industry professionals to develop and provide timely program topics and materials.
