Waste Disposal Delivery Hours Extended Due To Hurricane Sandy
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the York County Solid Waste Authority has extended disposal hours at the York County Resource Recovery Center (RRC) in an effort to expedite clean-up efforts across the county. Hours have been extended for commercial haulers and for residents. Extended hours are as follows: Commercial haulers: 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays starting 10/31/12 through 11/6/12. On Saturday, 11/3/12 hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays (ongoing) and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 11/3/12. The Resource Recovery Center is located at 2651 Blackbridge Road in Manchester Township. York County residents may dispose of waste and leaf/yard waste/tree limbs at the RRC. The "per ton" cost to dispose of these waste streams at the Resource Recovery Center is $59 per ton. The minimum fee to dispose of waste at the Resource Recovery Center is $10 (up to 320 pounds). From 320 pounds the cost is assessed proportionately. For example, the cost to dispose of 1/2 ton of waste is $29.50. Note: Leaf and yard waste/tree limbs delivered to the RRC is weighed in, billed and then directed to the Authority’s Yard Waste Transfer Facility. Cash or a check is accepted from residents for payment.
Residents or commercial haulers with questions should call the Solid Waste Authority at 845-1066.
