Veolia Environmental Services, Inc.
Veolia Environmental Services, Inc. (North America) is the operator of the York County Resource Recovery Center. Veolia employs approximately 52 people at the York facility.
In 1998 the Authority assigned the operations service agreement for the York County Resource Recovery Center to MYRES (now known as Veolia). The service agreement had previously been held by York Resource Energy Systems (YRES—formerly a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Corporation), now a subsidiary of Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc (CBS).
The assignment of the service agreement to a different vendor occurred as a result of a shift in CBS’s business focus from resource energy systems to communications.
Headquartered in Paris, France, Veolia Environnement was formed more than 150 years ago and has operations in more than 70 countries. Veolia Environnement is a complex mix of different businesses and brands such as Veolia Water, Veolia Environmental Services, Veolia Energy and Veolia Transportation. Veolia Environmental Services North America offers fully integrated environmental solutions to virtually all industrial, commercial, municipal and residential sectors.
