The York County Solid Waste Authority Announces Closure of the York County Resource Recovery Center on Saturdays

The York County Solid Waste Authority has suspended residential and commercial waste hauler deliveries to the York County Resource Recovery Center on Saturdays starting April 11, 2020 until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to reduce person-to-person contact. Again, starting April 11, 2020, the Resource Recovery Center will be closed for delivery of waste. When it is safe to reopen, we will issue notification via our website, social media and a media release.

The Resource Recovery Center will continue to be open to residents and commercial waste haulers Monday through Friday for waste deliveries ONLY. Residential electronics recycling has been suspended until further notice. Residents may deliver waste to the facility M-F from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. At this time, we ask that residents who have curbside waste disposal service refrain from delivering other waste to the Resource Recovery Center until after the pandemic has passed. Most waste haulers have suspended bulk item pick-up and yard waste collection.

The Authority facilitates responsible solid waste management through an integrated strategy that emphasizes waste reduction, education, recycling and resource recovery. The Authority is the owner of the York County Resource Recovery Center in Manchester Township; and owns and operates a Small Load Drop-off Facility, a Recyclable Materials Drop-off Center and an Education Center.
