Community Services Specialist
The York County Solid Waste Authority has an opening for a full-time Community Services Specialist to assist in all aspects of internal/external communications efforts with an emphasis on public education programming. The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited four-year college with a degree in communications, public relations, education or related field. They must be able to work independently and in a team setting. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a command of basic computer skills. Familiarity with desktop publishing is a plus. Must have a valid PA driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Responsibilities include presenting educational programming related to the environmentally responsible management of waste to schools, civic groups and members of the public; assisting with special events; writing media releases; updating social media and website content; producing brochures and newsletters; responding to community inquiries and providing tours of YCSWA’s facilities.
