Yard Waste

Not Sure How to Recycle Yard Waste in York County? We’re Here to Help.

What Are Your Options for Yard Waste Recycling?

1
At Home

Utilize mulch mowing (Use a mulching mower to mulch grass clippings and leaves into your lawn), composting (Add grass clippings and leaves to backyard compost), and weed prevention (Place grass clippings and leaves in garden beds or around trees and shrubs to prevent weeds).

2
Municipality Programs

Participate in your municipality’s yard waste drop-off or curbside recycling program, if offered. Contact your municipality to find out if these options are available.

3
Local Processors

Take tree trimmings, stumps, and root balls to a local mulch processor, such as H&H General Excavating, Spring Valley Mulch, or Eshbach Mulch Products.

4
Drop-Off at YCRRC Yard Waste Facility

Drop off yard waste at the York County Solid Waste Authority’s Yard Waste Facility within the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) complex. Click here for rates, hours, and directions. See the list of accepted and not accepted items below.
