The Small Load Drop Off Facility at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC)

Residents must first stop at the Resource Recovery Center scale house before being directed to the Small Load Drop-Off Facility. Visit our YouTube channel, and watch how our Small Load Drop Off area works.

York County residents can drop off these items:
  • Small Loads of Waste (e.g., furniture, mattresses, large quantities of trash)
After it’s collected, the waste is taken to the York County Resource Recovery Center, where it’s processed and turned into electricity.
  • Metal Items (e.g., bed frames, bookshelves)
The metal is later transferred to a local scrap yard.
  • Refrigerants (e.g., air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers)
The freon is removed before the items are recycled.
  • Yard Waste (e.g., leaves, tree branches, shrubbery)
Yard waste is taken to a local landscaping business and turned into mulch. See our Yard Waste page for details on the types of items accepted.
  • Electronics (e.g., TVs, computers, printers)
Items are taken to a business to be recycled. See our Electronics page for details on the types of items accepted.
