Artificial Turf

REUSE:  Artificial turf in good condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate artificial turf York PA” may show businesses that accept this material for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

TRASH: 

  • Artificial turf can be disposed of in the regular trash but is limited to no more than six feet in length and must be able to be carried by one person.  Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item disposal.  Contact them directly for more information.
  • Artificial turf can be disposed of at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) but is limited to no more than six feet in length and must be able to be carried by one person.  Click here for information on YCRRC rates and hours.   
  • Artificial turf that exceeds the quantity and size limits listed above must be disposed of at a landfill.  For more information click here.
