Barometer

CAUTION:  Mercury barometers contain the toxic metal mercury and cannot be disposed in the regular trash or at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC).  Instead, they must be managed using the options here for household hazardous waste in York County. 

REUSE:  Barometers in good working condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate barometer York PA” will show organizations that accept these items for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

TRASH:  Aneroid barometers contain no mercury and can be disposed in the regular trash.
