Barrels and Tanks

REUSE:  Empty unused barrels, drums, and tanks (unpressurized) in good condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate barrel York PA” will show organizations that accept these items for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

RECYCLE:  Empty metal barrels, drums, and tanks (unpressurized) may be able to be recycled at metal salvage businesses.  An internet search such as “recycle metal barrel York PA” will show businesses that accept these items for recycling.

TRASH:  Empty barrels, drums, and tanks (unpressurized) of any kind may be disposed at the curb during large item pick up or at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC).  Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.  Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item pick up.  Contact them directly for more information.
