Bricks

REUSE:  Bricks used in building construction may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate bricks York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

RECYCLE:  Bricks can sometimes be recycled.  Consult our C&D Reuse-Recycling Outlet List here or conduct an internet search such as “recycle bricks York PA” to pursue this option.  Clean, uncontaminated bricks can sometimes be recycled as “clean fill”. For more information regarding clean fill, consult the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Management of Fill Policy at their website here.  For bricks that meet the PA DEP’s clean fill standards, an internet search such as “clean fill York PA” may show businesses that accept this material.

TRASH:  Bricks cannot be processed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) so they should not be disposed of in the regular trash or brought to the YCRRC.  Bricks must be disposed at Modern Landfill (717-246-2686).
