Concrete

Concrete in good usable condition may be able to be donated. An internet search such as “donate concrete York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for donation.

Concrete may be able to be recycled.  Consult our C&D Reuse-Recycling Outlet List here or contact a local concrete business to pursue this option.

Clean, uncontaminated concrete can sometimes be reused as “clean fill”. For more information regarding clean fill, consult the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PA DEP) Management of Fill Policy at their website here.  For concrete that meet’s the PA DEP’s clean fill standards, an internet search such as “clean fill York PA” may show businesses that accept this material.

Concrete cannot be processed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) so it should not be disposed in the regular trash or brought to the YCRRC. Concrete must be disposed at Modern Landfill (717-246-2686).
