Concrete used in home construction may be able to be donated. An internet search such as “donate concrete York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for donation.
Clean, uncontaminated concrete can sometimes be recycled as “clean fill”. For more information regarding clean fill, consult the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Management of Fill Policy at their website here.
Concrete cannot be processed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) so it should not be disposed of in your regular trash or brought to the YCRRC. Concrete must be disposed of at Modern Landfill (717-246-2686).
