Cooking Oil
REUSE: Cooking oil that is unexpired and unopened, may be able to be donated. An internet search such as “donate cooking oil York PA” will show businesses that may accept this material for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.
TRASH: Cooking oil can be disposed of in the regular trash, but must be absorbed using a material such as kitty litter and tightly sealed in a container or double bagged to prevent leakage. Cooking oil can also be disposed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC), subject to the YCRRC tipping fee, but is limited to no more than 5 gallons per disposal and must be placed in the liquids hopper in the Small Load Drop-off Area. Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.
