Countertops
REUSE: Countertops may be able to be donated or resold. An internet search such as “donate countertop York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets. Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.
RECYCLE: Metal countertops can often be recycled at metal salvage businesses. An internet search such as “recycle metal door York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for recycling.
TRASH:
- Vinyl and wood countertops measuring six feet or less in length can be disposed in the regular trash. Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item disposal. Contact them directly for more information.
- Vinyl and wood countertops measuring six feet or less in length can be disposed in the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC). Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.
- Glass, metal, resin, stone, and any other countertops greater than six feet in length must be disposed at Modern Landfill. For more information click here.
