Hardware that is in good working condition can often be donated.  An internet search such as “donate hardware York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for donation.

Metal hardware can be recycled at metal salvage businesses.  An internet search such as “recycle scrap metal York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for recycling.

Hardware can also be disposed in the regular trash.  The York County Resource Recovery Center, where York County’s municipal waste is managed, recovers and recycles ferrous and non-ferrous metals from garbage ash.
