Lumber
REUSE: Lumber in good usable condition may be able to be donated or resold. An internet search such as “donate lumber York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets. Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.
TRASH:
- Lumber (including pressure-treated and composite) that is less than six feet in length and six inches in diameter can be disposed of in the regular trash. Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item disposal. Contact them directly for more information.
- Lumber (including pressure-treated and composite) that is less than six feet in length and six inches in diameter can be disposed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC). Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.
- Lumber exceeding six feet in length or six inches in diameter must be disposed of at Modern Landfill. Click here for more information.
