Musical Instruments
REUSE: Musical instruments in good working condition can be donated or resold. An internet search such as “donate (piano, drums, etc.) York PA” will show organizations that accept these items for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets. Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.
RECYCLE: Electronic musical organs and keyboards may be recycled at the York County Solid Waste Authority’s free Electronics Recycling Program. For more information click here.
TRASH:
- With the exception of pianos, musical instruments can be disposed in the regular trash or placed at the curb for large item disposal. Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item disposal. Contact them directly for more information.
- With the exception of pianos, musical instruments can be disposed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC). Click here for information on YCRRC fees and hours.
- Pianos cannot be processed at the York County Resource Recovery Center and must be disposed at Modern Landfill. For more information click here.
