Paper
REUSE: Many paper products in good usable condition can be donated or resold. An internet search such as “donate (gift wrap, office paper, toilet paper, etc.) York PA” will show organizations that accept these materials for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets. Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.
RECYCLE:
- Clean, dry brochures, catalogs, envelopes. file folders, greeting cards, junk mail, magazines, office paper, newspaper/inserts, paperback books, and shredded paper contained in paper bags are recyclable in most York County curbside bins. TRASH: Tissues, paper towels, napkins, gift wrap, paper plates and cups, even if they are biodegradable or compostable, are NOT recyclable and should be disposed in the regular trash or composted using specific composting methods for these materials.
