Pavement

Pavement may be able to be recycled by paving businesses. Consult our C&D Reuse-Recycling Outlet List here or contact a local paving business to pursue this option.

Clean, uncontaminated pavement can also sometimes be reused as “clean fill”. For more information regarding clean fill, consult the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Management of Fill Policy at their website here. For pavement that meet’s the PA DEP’s clean fill standards, an internet search such as “clean fill York PA” may show businesses that accept this material as clean fill.

Pavement cannot be processed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) so it should not be disposed in the regular trash or brought to the YCRRC. Pavement must be disposed at Modern Landfill (717-246-2686).
