Plumbing Fixtures

REUSE:  Plumbing fixtures such as bathtubs, sinks and toilets in good working order may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate sink York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

RECYCLE:  Metal plumbing fixtures such as cast iron or stainless-steel bathtubs and sinks can often be recycled at metal salvage businesses.  An internet search such as “recycle metal bathtub York PA” will show options for recycling these materials.

TRASH: 

  • Plumbing fixtures measuring six feet in length of less can be disposed in the regular trash.  Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item waste disposal.  Contact them directly for more information.
  • Plumbing fixtures measuring six feet in length or less can be disposed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC).  Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.   
  • Plumbing fixtures (shower stalls, bathtubs, etc.) measuring greater than six feet in length must be disposed at Modern Landfill.  Click here for more information.
