Safes

REUSE:  Safes may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate fireproof safe, gun safe, etc. York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms. 

RECYCLE:  Metal safes can often be recycled at metal salvage businesses. An internet search such as “recycle metal safe York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for recycling. 

TRASH:  Small document-sized safes can be disposed in the regular trash.  Safes larger than document-sized must be disposed at Modern Landfill.  Click here for more information.
