Siding

REUSE:  Siding in good usable condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate siding York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

RECYCLE:  Metal siding may be recyclable at metal salvage businesses.  An internet search such as “recycle metal siding York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for recycling.

TRASH: 

  • Vinyl and wood siding can be disposed in the regular trash but is limited to no longer than six feet in length.  Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item disposal.  Contact them directly for more information. 
  • Vinyl and wood siding can be disposed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) but is limited to no longer than six feet in length.  Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.   
  • Metal siding and siding that exceeds the size limits stated above must be disposed at Modern Landfill.  For more information click here.
