Hay and Straw

REUSE:  Hay and straw bales are often used for outdoor home decor.  Straw can also be used as animal bedding or mulch in gardens to prevent weeds.  Hay contains grain seeds so it is not recommended for mulching purposes.

TRASH:  Hay and straw bales can also be disposed in the regular garbage or at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC).  Click here for information on YCRRC hours and tipping fees.
