Pools

REUSE:  Small pools and pool materials in good usable condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate pool York PA” will show businesses that accept this material for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

RECYCLE:  Some above-ground swimming pools have metal sides that can be recycled at a metal salvage businesses.  An internet search such as “recycle metal York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for recycling. 

TRASH:  Vinyl pool liners and soft sided pools can be disposed of at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) but ONLY if all vinyl parts are cut into strips no wider than 6 feet and no heavier than one person can carry.  Click here for information on rates and hours of the YCRRC.  Pools and pool liners can also be disposed at Modern Landfill.  For more information click here.
