Windows

REUSE:  Windows and window glass in good usable condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate windows York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for donation,  or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.

TRASH: 

  • Windows and window glass can be disposed in the regular trash or curbside during large item pickup, but is limited to two 42-gallon trash bags per disposal. Your waste hauler may have additional requirements for large item pick up.  Contact them directly for more information. 
  • Windows and window glass can be disposed at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC) but is limited to two 42-gallon trash bags per disposal.  Click here for information on the YCRRC rates and hours.
  • Windows and window glass quantities exceeding the limits stated above must be disposed at Modern Landfill.  For more information click here.
