CAUTION: In Pennsylvania certain electronics (computers, computer peripherals, monitors and televisions) are restricted by law from being disposed in the trash due to environmental pollution hazards resulting from the toxic metals they contain.
REUSE: Electronics in good working order can often be donated or resold. An internet search such as “donate (computer, stereo, etc.) York PA” will show organizations that accept these items for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets. Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.
RECYCLE: Computers, computer peripherals (printers, keyboards, etc.), monitors and televisions, as well as many other different kinds of electronics, are accepted for recycling at YCSWA’s free Residential Electronics Recycling Program.
