Flammable Materials

CAUTION:  Materials such as fuels (gasoline, kerosene, butane etc.), solvents (degreasers, paint thinners, varnishes, etc.), products with a high acetone or alcohol content (nail polish remover, hand sanitizer, etc.), and mechanical greases/lubricants have the potential to catch fire easily and often also contain toxic chemicals.  Click here to view options to manage Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) in York County.

REUSE:  Solvents and other flammable products in good usable condition may be able to be donated or resold.  An internet search such as “donate (paint thinner, hand sanitizer, etc.) York PA” will show businesses that accept these materials for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets.  Reusable items can also be resold at garage sales, consignment stores and on internet sale platforms.
