Food

REUSE:  Fresh, unexpired, unopened food can often be donated.  An internet search such as “donate food York PA” will show organizations that accept food for donation, or click here to view a list of York County donation/reuse outlets. 

RECYCLE:  Many unusable foods and food scraps can be recycled through composting.  An internet search of “composting” will provide more information.

TRASH:  Food can also be disposed in the regular trash, except animal carcasses from butchering and hunting which require special handling.  Click here for more information.
