Many local non-profit agencies accept donations of medical equipment and often offer free pick-up. Your donation may also be tax deductible. An internet search such as “donate medical equipment York PA” will show organizations that accept these donations.
Medical equipment that is made of metal may be recyclable at metal salvage businesses. An internet search such as “recycle metal crutches, walker, etc.” will show businesses that accept these items for recycling.

Lightweight medical equipment may be disposed of in the regular trash. Heavy medical equipment, such as an electric wheelchair, may be disposed curbside during large item pick-up or at the York County Resource Recovery Center (YCRRC).
